Any hardware other then the CPU upgrade can help to cut short the time required for rendering works? Any software claims to help? Thanks.

Nope.
Vegas is all soft-based, no hardware assistance. Optimizing the machine helps too. videoguys.com has a great resource on hotrodding your settings, plus there are a lot of tips here in this forum.
