rendering HD in .WMV

Hi, I am rendering from a Sanyo Xacti HD700 in 1280x720 60fps to .WMV in the same specs. While rendering on an Intel Core 2 QUAD Q6600, it slows down every 30 frames (or so). Any ideas to speed this up?

This is normal. The WMV file consists of groups of frames, in this case 30 frames each. Vegas has to work on all 30 frames as a group to compress them properly and then it writes the whole group as a batch before moving on to the next group.
