Rendering in MPEG-1

I can render my short 3-5 minute videos in AVI and WMV without a problem, but when I render in MPEG-1, I get alot of skipping in the video, the video stays on beat with the music, there is just alot of skipping/stuttering. Can anyone help me with this issue? The video I use is all the same as far as the properties, here they are...

Looks like you're rendering to MPEG-2, not MPEG-1. Is that correct?

Can you fill out your system specs in your profile or in a reply?
Processor type/speed; RAM; Hard Drives; Video Card; player software would help, also.

No, I am rendering from MPEG-2 to MPEG-1, The footage that I use has been recorded from a DVD recorder and imported into the PC. All of the footage is recorded in the same format and the same rate from the DVD recorder. I used to use Video Studio 8 and never had a problem with rendering into MPEG-1. The player that I use to watch the render is, Real Player version 10.5. Like I said before though, I can render in AVI without a problem, the problem starts when I render in MPEG-1 format. I also ran the video in windows media player and also had skipping. If you would like to view the video file, please download from here http://eaglesfootball.milfordgrandprix.com/Boom2.mpg

Also, I did fill out my system specs.

Thanks guys

The video I am looking at shows 720x480, MPEG-1, Progressive Scan, 29.97.

That's seems like a low bitrate for the large frame size of the video. I would shrink the size of the frame and/or bump up the bitrate.

Going MPG to MPG is not ideal. You need to make sure "Best" is selected in the video properties of the render as setting you choose. Takes longer, but result is better. Essentially you are compressing it twice, so the quality is not going to be very good. You would have much better results if you used a standard miniDV tape machine and get to the original avi.
