Rendering Issues

Hey Everyone! New to the forums and video editing.

I have been having some troubles. I purchased the CX520 when it first came out mainly to capture family moments. It works great for that. I also am running Vegas Movie Studio Pro Platinum 9.0b. My problem comes when I try to render the movie. I record in AVCHD and cannot render into any mode. It works occasionally with small clips and rendering internet video. Sometimes it starts the rendering process and then hangs, sometimes it starts then Vegas crashes, sometimes Vegas crashes instantly, sometimes I get an error message. The error really depends on which format I try to render in. I have tried most all of them.

Here is the error message when I try to render in AVC. This is about a 20 min edited clip. Then when I tried to cut it down into smaller 5 minute sections, I get the hanging problem at about 3%. Any suggestions will help greatly. I just ordered 6gb more RAM to see if that will help, that will bring the total to 12gb. Thanks!

Known bug. The Sony AVC encoder is simply not stable when exporting in HD, high bitrate, for longer than a few mins.

Copy/paste the whole timeline to a new Vegas window, redo the project properties, and re-export anew using a different codec, e.g. WMV.

Thanks Eugenia.

Is this something that upgrading to Vegas Pro 9 will fix?

Tried that with a small portion and got a different error "ntdll.dll" instead of the mp4plug error.

Can you post your file properties as reported by MediaInfo? (free download).
Can you upload a short clip somewhere?

I will do that later, however I downloaded a trial copy of Vegas Pro 9 and it rendered it perfectly!
