Rendering KO in the last frames

After waiting 8 hours for rendering a project (1-hour, PAL-DV) the process stops in the very last frames of the project. The rendering dialog does not disappear and I must hit Cancel to "abort" it. When I investigate the output, only the last 10 or 15 frames are missing (midway fade-out in this case) but it is boring anyway.
Environment: P4-2400, 1GiG memory, ATA-100, PAL-DV, best quality, progressive.

Mybe your computer needed a little more time to complete that task. Check if "close the dialog" is marked.

I waited more than 5 minutes. and the progress bar was at 100%. And the box "close this dialog at the end" was checked ...

Next time WAIT until it is finished. The time remaining shown is an estimate. The longer your project the less accurate the time remaining is and I've frequently seen it go to 0.00 and then continue on for maybe five even ten minutes or longer before it is actually done.

You can tell if the application hung if you look below the preview window and watch the frame count...assuming you enabled it. If that don't change after 5 minutes or so, then assume Vegas hung... a rare event. Otherwise just wait, becasue it probably hasn't.
