rendering MPEG 2

What is the best setting to render MPEG 2 to be used in DVD Architect 2 and to be played back on television and Computer. I have a hard time to find the perfect setting and been wasting a lots of DVD to burn and play back without any good results. Vegas does not explain in detail all the option-functions-results in the rendering windows under custom-video. My final dvd's are shaky the moment I have a moving object (dog agility) All my clips are im MPEG 2. Thanks a lot for any help. John

It should be as easy as simply using one of the DVD Architect templates - the defaults for any of the DVDA templates should be able to handle most video fine, unless it involves fast motion.

Stop wasting DVD's and get a few DVD-RW's to experiment with.

Does the video footage look jumpy when you preview it on the Vegas timeline?

This is usually the result of an interlace field order problem and can only be detected on a TV screen since a computer screen is not interlaced. What is the source of your video clips? Are they from an analog camcorder? How were they captured? You must render in the same field order as they were captured. DV footage is normally lower-field first but some analog capture cards will capture upper-field first. Switching the filed order will look fine during no motion but the video will get very jumpy during any high motion because the fields are being displayed out of order.

I agree. Sounds like you need to reverse your field order.
