Because you rendered to an uncompressed format.
Choose something other than the Default rendering template.

Uncompressed AVI takes up about 2.33 Gb for every minute of video!
DV-AVI, on the other hand uses only about 1/12th the space.

And ... if you are going to continue editing video .. you'll soon find you need a much larger hard disk.

Make that second disk where you store all your video files .. but keep the Vegas program itself on your C drive.

Right. Between the twin desktops in my editing suite i've got about 3TB of drive space, and i'm feeling very cramped. I'll probably up that to about 8TB soon.
