I'm editing AVCHD files with 5.1 sound from my Panasonic TM700 in VP10. Project properties are set to 1920x1080, upper file first.

Could some kind person explain the difference between the various rendering options?

I've been using Main Concept MPEG-2 with HDV 1080-50i template which has always produced good results.

However, I've only recently noticed that rendering as Sony AVC offers templates that specifically offer =AVCHD 1920x1080-50i 5.1 Surround.

My basic question is: which redering format gives the better video & audio quality, Main Concept or Sony AVC ?

I generally play my results on a Panasonic 42" plasma TV with 5.1 surround sound, as well as burning to BluRay.
