System: Win98SE/VV3.0c
In the past I have successfully created a project with VV3.0a. This is my first attempt with the newest version and I need some help. This project has a series of stills that appear with the beat of some background music. It then fades into a title sequence and then into the captured digital video (Sony TRV 30). After making my cuts and transitions, the timeline plays perfectly with the preview window. I then selected 'all' and rendered to MPEG2 (DVD NTSC) with all of the default settings. The result was terrible. The pics did not appear in beat with the music and the video would play then pause then play then pause, etc. Also, the video quality was poor in that it seemed to show the movements with 'ragged' edges. Here are the properties of the media:
Stills:
resized to 655x480x24
Lower Field First
Multimedia
None
Video:
720x480x24
Lower Field First
0.9091 (NTSC DV)
None
Should I have rendered the project first to .avi or something else? Thanks for any help you can give me. The mpeg2 file plays poorly in both my player (MediaBar) and if I reload it to the timeline in a new project in VV3.0c. The last project plays perfectly in both. First project was about 42 minutes long and this new project is only about 7 minutes long at this point. I rendered it just to see if the stills appeared as perfectly in the finished product as in the project timeline.
