Rendering problems

Please help me!! I'm trying to render to avi format from a DV source and it keeps giving me an error message about 10-11% through the process. The error message is something about not enough storage space or no read write permission, (neither of these are the case.) I've tried everything I can think of and have a deadline for this project. Any suggestions? Running on a PIII 733 256mb ram.

Are you running Windows 98 or ME (as compared to NT, 2000, or XP)?
Are you rendering to an uncompressed .avi format?

If so, you're probably hitting Windows' 4GB limit for individual files.
Uncompressed 30fps 640x480 24bit video takes over 1GB per minute
and that means you'll hit 4GB in less than 4 minutes. Try rendering
back to the DV codec instead of uncompressed. That only takes about
220MB per minute and you can fit almost 19 minutes into 4GB.

If you have Video Factory 2.0a (build 91), it will automatically split your
output file into separate 4GB sections if necessary.

Actually I am running ME, that's probably what it is. I guess I'll try rendering it compressed like you said cause it's a 45 min. video. Thanks for your help.. You're a savior!!! Halelujah! I'll let ya know if it worked. Thanks again
