Sometimes all I need to do to an mpg file is to trim off the beginning and end and fade it in/out. Then when I render as a DVD stream it takes ages for what seems like little alteration to the original file. Also I seem to be stuck with a fixed bitrate (8000) even though the source of the file is a TS with typical biterates of 3500 to 5500.This then makes the file too big for a SL disc so DVDA has to recompress it to fit. Am I getting loss of quality doing things this way? And could I do it another way which is quicker?
