Hi Niel,

Could you expand on what you are trying to achieve and exactly how you modified your audio and video?

Thanx, MPH

I need the video to be fast (2x). To do this, I used the rate arrow at the bottom left of the tracks window. Then to get the audio (music) to sync up with it, I edited the properties and changed the length to 2x whatever the original length was.

When playing back the timeline, the result was a fast video with normal sound. Exactly what I wanted. However, when I render, or print to tape, it playes back at 1x speed and the audio is slow (because I changed the length).

I can't figure out how to set the video or sound to accomplish the final product. Apparently there is another way to do this, because I have seen other examples done.

Thanks

Neil

The scrubber tool is only for previewing and will not effect any render.

There are 3 different ways to accomplish slow and fast motion:

1) You can stretch an event (CNTRL-Left Mouse hold and drag an event edge) (Pages 138 & 139 in the manual) This method will also change the speed of the associated audio
2) Insert a Velocity envelope (Pages 159 & 160 in the manual) Note: you can also stop and reverse video using the velocity envelope.
3) Right click on the clip, select "properties" and set the "playback rate". (page 155 in the manual)

Also, for smooth slow motion, make sure you select "resample" and possibly "reduce interlace flicker" in the switches menu and render at "best" quality.

DCRANDALL - Surfing this forum and finding guidelines like you provided are definitely a treat. My notes are already larger than the manual. Appreciate you guys who can fill in the voids for some of us out here. jthor
