> Do video capture settings influence the rendering time?

If you are capturing files and directly dropping them in DVD Architect then yes, the capture settings will matter. You should be capturing as a DV avi file. If you are exporting from Vegas Movie Studio, you should export as either a DV avi file or DVD quality MPEG2 file. The optimal setting is obviously DVD quality MPEG2 since no rendering is involved at all.

Without more information about where these files are coming from and it what format, it’s difficult to give further guidance.

Yes I am capturing files and directly dropping them into DVD architect. I am capturing with a ATI all in wonder Radeon that allows me to pick the bit rate and type of file that I want. I have been capturing in mpeg2. What I would like to know is if their is an optimal bitrate to capture video for use in dvd architect studio. If there is specific information that you need please ask me. thanks

Your file type should be MPEG2 with a capture resolution of 720x480 and an average video bitrate of 6.0MB/sec (although it could be lower will less quality). Audio should be 48KHz MPEG-Layer 2 with a audio bitrate of 224 kbps.
