Rendering Time

I have a 28 seconds effect, it's a PIP with one clip blurred. It's taking me 9 minutes to render it as an AVI file.
Is this normal?

VV 5.0
P4 3.0Ghz
One Gig Ram

Exactly which AVI template are you saving it to? If it is the "default" then you are saving it as uncompressed.

What blur are you using & how blurred it is? A gausian blur will take a while. :)
