First of all rendering using a DVD pal format restricts ur DVD to region 2 or European dvd players. Use NTSC DVD for a template. THe media is also important DVD-R's are the best for playing on most players. Make sure your are using MPEG2 codec that is for NTSC size or 720 X 480. Set in the custom section in vegas quality to best as sometimes the default is just to good.
Since ur movie is 90 minutes i would render your AVI file in Vegas to MPEG2 and then import it into DVD architect. You may have to reduce the bit rate to accomodate but it should be fine on 4.2Gb media
