I have 2 questions, and will appreciate if someone can help.
Since i have upgraded to v6 my rendering takes days for just and hour clip.
The second thing is that i keep getting this message "The MSSQL$Sony_mediamgr service does not exist or the current account does not have enough privilidge to manage it. An error occured with the media manager. This eature will be unavailable. media manager initilisation failed". I am the administrator for the pc therefore cannot understand the message,

can someone out there please help me
Thanks

Depending on what kind of Proc that you have - the renders may go faster if you go in to options -> Preferences -> select the editing tab, and just underneath where the RAM Preview allocation is there should be "threads" selection - setting that to 1 may speed up your renders.

As for the Media Manager - Are you talking about when you install it, or when you open Vegas?

Downgrade back to V5 until V6c is released. I have had nothing but trouble with V6/V6a/V6b so unless you need SDI I/O go back to V5 and be productive. My final attempt to use V6b was on a dual processor 1.8 with Medea RAID storage and 2 gigs of RAM. After waiting 3 hours for V6b to get past the splash screen I threw in the towel and removed it.

you can disable Media Manager in preferences, might help.

I had a similar problem with 6b. Tech Support walked me through a complete uninstall of Vegas and Media Manager and related files. A clean install got Media Manager working again.
