Hi,

Can any of you give me an honst opinion to if VF is really profeesional enough to render a high quality, pro looking VCD.

If not VCD, can it render an .avi uncompressed file really really well?

Thanks for any feedback. If you have any settings you use to get a high quality video, could you please share them with me.

I've had really good sucess with vcd from vf, but uncompressed avi is always way better. The compromise is to save it out as avi and then capture the avi to vhs tape. The quality is every bit as good as the original with all the cool effects you can put in with vf. I'm running just an "old" cannon hi8 connected to a ati all in wonder pro 32mb video card which has video in and out (to tv, vcr, or camcorder if you camera supports line in). Be sure an have lots of disk space if your thinking of uncompressed avi. I just did a 6 minute project which cost me 2.5 gb of space. The rendering is fast if you have a good fast system. I found it to be about real time rendering on a 7200 ata 100 hd. As far as senting goes, I've just got the s/w and I'm just having fun with it. I've had good results using the standard vcd format (250x352)

hope this helps

Some people consider the term "high quality pro-looking VCD" to be an oxymoron. LOL

Anyway, I can tell you that VF has made VCDs for me that look as good or better than any other program, including TMPGEnc.
