Repeated Internet Connection Error with Magix Installation Manager

So I've been having an issue with connectivity regarding my Magix products. I am a user of Vegas Pro 15 Edit and my work had been repeatedly halted by a pop-up window saying that I am not connected to the Internet, despite my PC and every other app I use running on the internet just fine. I figure maybe it's just a glitch in the installation, so I go to uninstall it and reinstall the program.

However, the internet connectivity error persists with the installation manager, to the point where it won't even run. I am clearly connected to the internet, and I have even disabled my firewall in hopes it might change something, to no avail. This problem occurs with multiple of my Magix products that I have tried to install now, and I want to find out why it's happening so I can continue working.

I run a Windows 10 Acer Nitro AN515-43.

I recall another user having a similar problem and in that case it turned out Windows Defender was the culprit.

So would you recommend turning it off entirely then?

Are you using it as your virus software or do you also have another installed and running?
