as far as I know replace will only replace one item - you can replace an avi with only one file not multiple images.

but this is totally silly ... you mean you cannot even replace one sequence. (like a tga seq) with another? .... there must be a way ... i've used seq. in my timeline, and that doesn't seem to be a problem, but i cannot change that with another seq. ... this makes no sense when one can do it with other file formats ... esp, that there is a checkbox saying to replace/import with still image seq.

thanks anyway.

well, i see this is a bug reported by weasel_ferrt in post RE: bug report: replace media/image seq ... so i still don't have a workaround nor a solution to replace one avi, or QT mov, or any other file other than a seq with a seq.!!

anyone?

Keep digging in that thread about the bug, SatanJr had a workaround involving renaming folders

It sucks, I know

A workaround is simply to rename the file(s).

no ... you cannot simply remane an image sequence so that vegas will import it from an originally labeled avi format ... it will only bring in the first frame. again, im trying to do a basic replace, one that is easily done in AE or premeire ... replace an avi with an image sequence. :(
