Replacing an event.

Can anybody telling me how to replace an event on the time line, (in this case it is a picture). I don’t want to delete and the insert a new one. I just want to replace the old picture with a new one. The new one should take the attribute from the old picture and apply them to the new picture.
In the editor I used before (Ulead MSpro) it was a special command with did this in one go, very simple. I just hope it can be done in Vegas as well. Can not find it in the manual

I've updated a pix that is on the timeline by putting the pix in the same location and with the same name and it was updated automatically.
The project knows where to look for the pix and will use it if it's named the same,

You also can use the project media tab and right click on the media you want to replace. There's an option to replace. It will allow you to search for the media you wish to use

Right-click the original image in the Project Media tab and select Replace.
Browse to the folder with the new image, click it and click Open.
You're done.

The 2-Step Take Tango!

1] Click and hold with RightMouseButton on your "new" still and DRAG to the "old" still.

2] Release and use "Add as Takes" option

Done!

Whatever FX was on still-A will hold for still-B.

Great, Grazie !!
-> More powerfull than the "replace" option if media is used more than one time in the project !

This works if you want to replace the image in the overall project. If you just want to replace an event then Takes is the tool. As Grazie described.

I'd add that when you use Takes both of the images will be attached to the event and you can toggle between them. If you want to be extra tidy you can remove the old take from the event and just keep the new take. It's an extra step and probably a bit fussy.
