May I ask why cutting at markers are useful?

Yes, you may ask... of course, the answer depends on why you put the markers there in the first place. ;-)

I assume Venom was marking places where he/she would like to treat certain events in Adobe AfterEffects. This requires that you export those areas that you want to process, import them into AfterFX for processing, and then drop them back at the same place on the timeline. Using markers to mark these positions makes it easier to reassemble the events later. Being able to cut at the markers also expedites this otherwise manual process.

Personally I would have used Regions for this type of work but everyone’s workflow is different and that’s why answering the question may have many different answers.
