Can I just re-render a menu page without re-rendering all the MPEG's??
No.
But, ideally, you shoudln't be rendering the MPEGs in DVDA, anyhow. If possible, you should render them in Vegas (or whatever) so that they are fully DVD compliant. Then when you bring them into DVDA, it will simply prepare your DVD files, which only takes a few minutes. Good idea to have already made individual AC3 (or WAV) files for your audio, as well.
Also, my first menu is previewing perfectly, but on the burned DVD it is not showing any type or MPEG icons... any thoughts?
No clue. What version of DVDA are you using? What kind of background do you have -- still image or video?
Being a sort of bullish character, I fixed the problem, although I have no idea how -
first I moved the object order of all type and icons to the "front" (on top of a standard video background - so this should not have made any difference) and then... well I had turned the remote "search video chapters" to "off" - I turned it back on again - I don't know how this would have made any difference either, but... it worked.
On the subject of sound - I'm using VV5 to make MPEG2 files for my DVD's. How do I make audio files (aren't they embedded into the MPEG2?) and why?
Thanks in advance...
