Resample : Ghosting and repeated frames. Automation

Good evening everyone !

I use Vegas pro 15, soon will be using 17, and I deal all the time with projects with source footage that have different frame-rates, usually from 25 to 30 fps. I always render in 30fps ( except if for instance all original footage is 25 fps).

It's not simple, so I'd like to find an automated way (scripting or setting) to disable resample on all footage, except , let say, for 5 frames before ending, and 5 frames after starting each source footage (these are the parts of the project where repeated frames are too problematic), either by letting Vegas resampling these parts, or by cutting the repeated frames on these parts and therefore changing speed in these parts for a very short time.

(I usually don't use transitions, neither fade or mix anything.)

That would be very useful for fast clips production for instance. Wouldn't it ?

Does anyone have any idea how I could do that ?

Thank you.

Also some great tool that Vegas should add is an analytic feature that would detect and mark all original cuts and eventual repeated frames inside the source footage itself.

To disable resample throughout the project go to project properties and choose disable resample.

To disable resample only on the chosen videos, select events, right-click and on switches choose disable resample.

The HOS FrameFixer tool can detect scene change and can also detect, mark and replace repeated frames.

Thank you Veg !

God ! That tool seems pretty nice. Not free though, I guess it's a lot of work. It's a test version, future price isn't mentioned, no estimation. I would be quite upset if I get used to it and can't afford to keep it later.
