Can you explain more fully?

" . . ony the last frame of the event is extended" I can achieve this when the properties of the Event have Loop "off". This indeed will make the last frame be repeated - the event is not repeating and LOOPING. Stretching just makes the last frame fill the timeline. And by definition this would mean that I had reached the end of the event. I would have reached the end of the event. So that is it. There IS no more event to stretch out?

So, how does your second question relate - " Does this happen after rendering?" - under these circumstances I would have to answer, no.

Hold the Ctrl key down while stretching.

What I meant is that I wanted to stretch out an event, so that it takes up more of the timeline and as a result, it will play slower. I want to stretch out the entire event proportionally and not just the frame of the event.

In regards to my second question, I thought that maybe you had to render the project in order for Vegas to resample the event.
