I'm thankful that SVMS has an "auto save" feature. For those who don't know .. the program will automatically save your work as you are editing .. because if your computer crashes and you didn't save . you would be out of luck.
The short story .. I was editing a hour TV show .. that needed to be delivered to my cable access TV station on Thursday. On Tuesday .. I finished the edit and rendered a Real Player version for the web.
I edit on my computer at work (not the computer that the company gives me .. it's my own personal property) I got involved with work 'stuff' and had to stay a bit later than I usually leave. Because of that I was in a hurry to leave, and I didn't think about my project.
The next day (Wed), when I started Vegas MS to render and burn a DVD the progam came up with the message "Vegas was not shut down properly. Do you want to restore the Auto Saved Project? ?
I *thought* I had saved it so I answered "No" .. and then could NOT find my saved project. ARRRGH !!
Luckily it was a fairly easy edit and I used the Real Player version to remind me of my text screens and edit points. I was able to re-edit the project and submit it in time for broadcast.
My question ... if anyone knows .. is there a way to "get" to the saved project .. if you've said NO to the "restore auto saved project" box by accident? Or is that data lost forever when you say "no"?
