Restored settings

When restoring Vegas to factory settings using Ctrl.Shift, does that affect ONLY the settings within the software itself (eg. Preferences), or might it also have changed the way the directories (files?) were set up or point? Not sure how to phrase it, as someone else set up my computer for the initial install. However now I’m having a “permissions” problem when putting up stuff on a website that I have never had before and it all began after I did the restore.

Coincidence, or not, is what I’ve been trying to determine. ? Any thoughts?

It will reset your default render to/temp folder, but that's it, with regard to Vegas. The veg files you've saved will still point to the drives they pointed to when they were saved.
It won't change any system permissions, or anything to do with your windows system.
It WILL delete any custom settings you may have generated in your prefs though.
