Retaining Transparency On Render?

This must have been done to death before .. but here goes . .

I've got a short rolling TEXT item. I wish to retain the final Render to New Track's transparency? I to overlay this item over other stuff.

You can save the text item as a preset in the text generator (give it a descriptive name and click on the little floppydisc icon) and call it up whenever you want to use it.

If you have a credit roll with a transparent (zero alpha) background, you can render as uncompressed .avi.

Alpha channel will be retained in uncompressed .avi's. DV .avi does not support alpha.

Just to add to SonyEPM's tip, when you bring in the uncompressed .avi into your project you have to go to the .avi's properties dialog and select Premultiplied Alpha.
