RETURN TO WRONG MENUS

I have a 1hr30m mpg and ac3 in the project. There are 20+ chapter points set. Buttons are created for each chapter point. When in Preview mode, pressing the BACK button takes me back to the calling menu. When on a Settop player, every button returns to the TOP MENU instead of the calling MENU.

Suggesstions please?

Thanks.

Do you have the latest update installed (1.0c)? From what you described, the back button in the preview mode should also return to the top menu.

I have installed 1.0c and will be testing it momentarily. I would have expected the preview mode to give the same result as the prep and burned dvd as well. That is what makes this a but frusterating. Though I have to say, this product beats the crap out of DVDitPE which I was using before. I'm hoping that sony doesn't bench the product or make it unaffordable.

Results of new prep and burn with 1.0c:

The same problem still occurs. Both Menu and Top Menu on the settop players return to the top menu. The preview mode in the software will properly take me to the calling menu when BACK is pressed and the top menu when menu is pressed.

You're findings are consistent with how it is expected to work. DVD Architect constructs the DVD such that both the "Menu" and "Top Menu" buttons take you to the top menu. The "Back" button is the same as the "Return" or "Go up" button on some remotes. However, by default, DVD Architect doesn't allow use of the "Back" button on burned DVDs when playing a video (only menus). The preview behaves differently -- it allows use of the "Back" button when playing a video.

DVD Architect does not provide any way to change the behavior of the "Menu" and "Top Menu" buttons. We hope to allow more user control over this in version 2 of DVD Architect.

I believe you, but under one particular circumstance, which I cannot reproduce, I had the MENU button of the settop players taking me to the calling menu as opposed to the top menu. I was doing something along the lines of moving the START SLIDER to one frame in front of (or behind) the chapter point, and it gave me the desired result. However, it only happened on one burn and I modified the project and cant get it back. Anyway, I will be supporting the product by purchasing upgrades as available, and look forward to the release of v2.

Thanks.
