Reversed Clip Stutters

Whenever I reverse a clip and then set it's playback speed to 50%, the clip is jumpy on playback when rendered. It looks like it's only rendering every 2nd or 3rd frame. I've tried rendering to MP4 and mpg2 with the same results.

Has anyone else seen this? Is there something I can do to give me smooth playback? I'm using Vegas Pro 8.0c

Thanks,
Joe

I'm just guessing here, since I haven't done this.
Try changing the speed slightly so that it's close to what you want. That may clear it up if the next paragraph isn't the problem.
Also, right click the reversed clip and go to 'Properties' and then the 'media' tab and make sure field order is set to the opposite of the forward tracks (probably 'Upper' on reversed track). It should already be set the right way, but just to make sure it hasn't changed.
Lastly, maybe do a search on 'Smart rendering', not sure if that's the right term, but a type of rendering that will create new frames based on what you're doing. I may have the wrong term, but somebody here knows what I mean.
