reverting V9 project back to V8

DJPadre wrote on 3/20/2010, 12:41 AM
anyone know how this can be done?

I have had MANY issues with V9, to a point of having to remove v9 entirely from one of my systems...

The main workstation is BARELY capable of running v9 without flakin out at some point...

v8 is as solid as a rock though...

Ive gone into the veg file (rename to text then open wiht notepad) and had a look at the info, and im unsure of what to change within the veg file itself... its abotu 400kb, so its pretty big for a veg file, mind you ive only jsut started and it woudl save at leat a days in footage culling if i can get this veg to work on my system... but each time it loads, vegas crashes with a "kernel132.dll error"

any ideas?

You could try selecting all events and copy/pasting from V9 to V8, but if there's anything in the project which uses a V9 feature which is not in V8, you may well get a rejection.

I don't think you can revert a V9 project back to V8. In fact I've never been able to copy and paste files between the two programs either.

i cant even open the v9 old project in v9...

copy and paste crashes as well... ie from v9 to v8 BOOM but from v8 to v9 no problemo...

ggrrrr

One thing you could try and I have zero idea if this will help but hey, it's something.

Move all the V9 assets to a new folder so V9 cannot find them.
That might get the project to open. Then Save As AAF or some other text based project format and then move the assets back and the see if V8 can open it.
