Right Click for Envelope Tool in 2.0

bgc wrote on 5/12/2000, 1:35 PM
Is this going to be fixed/added? I've tried using
2.0 but get really annoyed not being able to use this
feature (all the other tools have right click menus
why not the envelope tool?). Next build? Please?
And I'm hesitant to do any work on 2.0 unless the
projects are 100% guaranteed to be compatible with Vegas
Audio... when it comes out... this summer... for $99.

I see it when you don't click on an event but just right click in an
empty space on the track. Is this what you mean?

If I right click anywhere in a track (on an event, off an event,
anywhere) I don't get anything. I'm talking about the envelope
tool.

You don't see Insert/Remove envelope? I do on mine... Maybe that's
not what you mean... Are you using build 273?

I'm using 273 and don't see anything at all. I'm using Windows NT
4.0. That's the only thing I could think it would be. Bug?

Brett,

This is something we fixed right after the previous beta was
released. It'll be in the next beta, rest assured.

Brett,
We are doing testing on backwards compatability with Vegas 1.0 files
and we at SF are aware taht without this compatabilty the usefulness
of 2.0 as an upgrade path would be seriously crippled.

However, I am not prepared to commit to a statement that would 100%
guarantee that work you do with the Vegas 2.0 BETA is going to be
completely workable with the Vegas 2.0 Final. As with any Beta,
there is a chance that changes made to how Vegas 2.0 works could
cause files made with the BETA to act differently than expected in
the Final. Yes, I do not see anything that may cause such a thing
that but a bugfix in the BETA *could* cause changes to the Final such
that the files made with the beta are not fully compatable.

Finally, I see no reason that the audio portions of work done in the
Vegas 2.0 BETA would not work as expected in Vegas 2.0 Audio Final.
While Audio 2.0 will have limited Video functionality the Audio
portions will be the same in both the Audio and Video versions of
Vegas 2.0 Final.

Does that answer that part of your question?

Hi Jason,
Thanks for the detailed reply. It's more than I expected.
Your answer is what I would have written, basically,
"We're trying our best but we can't promise you 100%."
That's completely fair.
Sooooo, when can I get my official Vegas Audio 2.0 so I don't
have to worry about compatibility and keep track of the "Days Left"
counter (cause, you know, counting backwards makes me dizzy ;) )
