Why don't you post here your info?

It is one and a half pages long covering four different kinds of jobs- Ripple edits and: Trimmer, Events on the timeline, Deleting on the timeline and Cut on the timeline.
I just felt it was too much to put on here.
Am I wrong about this?

Please post here. That wouldn't be too long at all. I'm sure everyone reading this forum would be glad to see your information!

Maybe each subject could be it's own post, which might make it easier to reply or ask questions.

There has been a lot of intrest and request to post so here it is.

Ripple Edit from the Trimmer Window

1. Right click the clip to be edited then select Open in Trimmer Window.
2. Place the cursor where the head of the event is to be and click the left button to establish the head of the event. If the location is not correct use the right or left arrow keys to correct it.
3. Click on the icon Set In Point at Cursor Position.
4. Place the cursor where the tail of the event is to be and click the left button to establish the tail of the event.
5. Click the Set Out Point at Cursor Position icon.
6. Play the segment to see if the out point is what is wanted. If not drag the right end of the Selection Bar (above the time ruler) right or left and play the selection again.
7. Press Ctrl/c to copy the event to the clipboard.
8. On the timeline click where the event beginning is to be inserted to position the cursor bar.
9. Click at the head of the timeline track where the event is to be inserted so it is selected.
10. Click the Ripple Effects icon on the toolbar to select it.
11. Press Ctrl./v to place the effect on the timeline and move all the events to the right

Tip:
„X Pasted events will sit on top of other events in the track if they overlap. To make space for pasted events rather than pasting them on top of existing events, press Control+Shift+V or choose Paste Insert from the Edit menu. This command pastes the events at the current cursor position and moves any existing events to make room for the pasted events.

Ripple Edit mode to move one or more events on the timeline

1. Click and drag in the time selection bar (the space above the ruler) from one end of the events to be moved to the other, a blue area will show the selected area and a gray bar will show on the selection bar.
2. The defining ends can be adjusted to the exact area wanted by clicking on them to show a double ended arrow which can be dragged left and right.
3. The selected area (blue) will extend through all six tracks. If you want only certain events moved, while say background music is left in place, hold the shift key down and click on those events to be moved.
4. If you want to copy the events to another place press Ctrl +c; if you want to move the events press Ctrl+x to place them on the clipboard.
5. Place the cursor where the events are to be moved to. The cursor can be accurately located by using the left and right arrow keys.
6. Click at the head of the track to select it if it isn¡¦t selected.
7. Select the Ripple Edit icon on the toolbar.
8. Press Ctrl+v to paste the events in the new location and move all the events to the right.
9. BTW if you lose the blue defining area just double click the gray bar on the selection bar to get it back.

Delete Events in Ripple Edit Mode

1. Click and drag in the time selection bar (the space above the ruler) from one end of the events to be deleted to the other, a blue area will show the selected area and a gray bar will show on the selection bar.
2. The defining ends can be adjusted to the exact area wanted by clicking on them to show a double ended arrow which can be dragged left and right.
3. The selected area (blue) will extend through all six tracks. If you want only certain events deleted, while say background music is left in place, hold the shift key down and click on those events to be deleted.
4. Select the Ripple Edit icon on the toolbar.
5. From the Edit menu, choose Delete or press the Delete key. The selected events are removed from the track. The remaining events on the track/s where events were deleted are moved along the timeline to fill the empty time space; the unselected events remain where they were.

Cut events in Ripple Edit mode (The difference between Cut and Delete is that Cut puts the material on the clipboard.)

1. Click and drag in the time selection bar (the space above the ruler) from one end of the events to be cut to the other, a blue area will show the selected area and a gray bar will show on the selection bar.
2. The defining ends can be adjusted to the exact area wanted by clicking on them to show a double ended arrow which can be dragged left and right.
3. The selected area (blue) will extend through all six tracks. If you want only certain events cut, while say background music is left in place, hold the shift key down and click on those events to be cut.
4. Select the Ripple Edit icon on the toolbar.
5. From the Edit menu, choose Cut or press Ctrl+x. The selected events are removed from the track. The remaining events on the track/s where events were cut are moved along the timeline to fill the empty time space; the unselected events remain where they were.
