Roll Back to Previous Version

bdbutte wrote on 5/14/2021, 10:00 PM

The latest update (527) has re-broken Vegas Pro 18 and I cannot seem to find where I can download a previous version or roll back the install. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Getting so tired of half the patches breaking what the other half fix.

They're all in news/patches

If you want help with 527 share some details about what's wrong with it or file a support request. It's getting late in the life of VP 18 so who knows if there will be more.

Greatly appreciated!

I've had ongoing problems since MAGIX bought Vegas and issued their first non-Sony release. First version never works, crashes within 10min. The 1st or 2nd patch fixes it - it's so predictably bad that I have a separate partition on my HD with only Windows 10 and as few drivers as possible so I can test new releases. Then the 3rd or 4th patch breaks everything again and I'm back at 10min of uptime before it crashes. Unfortunately this time I forgot to save the previous install AND was dumb enough to try it on my primary partition instead of the test partition, hence the post. Just got lazy.

I've tried everything with MAGIX but they haven't been able to figure it out. It is the ONLY software that crashes on my machine. I believe it's a device driver conflict with VST.

Okay, that's just blowing off steam. If you want actual help with the current version of VP 18 please provide relevant details, not generalities.

That said, VST is a good hint. Vegas Pro only supports VST 2 and works best with 32-bit versions so under preferences don't show Vegas VST folders that have other ones in them. You can compile any VSTs that should work in Vegas (they end in dll) and copy them into a folder for Vegas.
