Ok, I've completed my forst project in VMS9-Platinum. A 12 minute portfolio of my daughters soccer skills for college coaches. Its source is 20+ mpgs (of games) from which I cut individual scenes (highlights) of interest. I included audio/vidoe of her as an introduction, and music (that's what she calls it) to go with the action shots.I put all this into a DVD with chapters. Some of the issues I haven't figured out though are: when I cut scenes to replace them with others, it also ends up cutting the audio as well.So I end up with fragmented audio. I end up delleteing the audio and importing it agian. Also I tend to end up with some scenes overlapping others, but it's not obvious unless I move a scene. Is there an easy way to recognize overlapping frames on the time line?

The audio, by default, is Grouped with the video track to keep it synchronized.
To edit the video separately, you would Ungroup the events or Ignore Event Grouping.
These simple procedures are fully explained in the instructions (Help section).

The coaches I have talked to said to keep the presentation to no more than 5 minutes.

Yeh, I know. I've heard anywhere from 5-10 minutes. But her personal introduction is atleast 2 minutes on it's own. I do have it broken up into chapters, so they can wath all of it, or just individual apsects of her game: (shooting,heading,dribbling...). It's tough killing those babies. Originally I had it at over 20 minutes.
