Rosebud: M2T=MPEG? This out to ExtMon . . .

. .and yes this is ANOTHER version of the ongoing non-MPEG to ExtMon scenarios .. but with a difference ..

Previously I couldn't/still can't get MPEGS to show up on my ExtMon from Explorer/Trimmer/Media Manager - I CAN from the Timeline and I can from DVDA.

OK.

Rosebud hinted that this was starting to "appear" as a more localised European issue .. well .. guess what? Now I have some NTSC HDV 1080/60 footage I've been doing "other" tests with and I can now say the following:

#1 - Set Project to NTSC

#2 - I can NOW Preview on my ExtMon NTSC M2T Files FROM Explorer, Trimmer and Media Manager.

Oh, I've re-tested the original issue - PAL MPEGS out to ExtMon and still hangs Vegas.

This needs to be re-tested by somebody else too for a TRUE positive.

So to recap I'm getting NTSC MPEGS=M2T files Preview from Explorer/Trimmer/Media Manager on my ExtMonitor. I DON'T with PAL MPEGS.

Thanks Rosebud! I believe we MAY have something here ..

TIA

hmmm… Unfortunately for me, Vegas still hang even with ntsc mpeg/m2t & ntsc project.
I would like to test ntsc preview by setting the preview device to ntsc (in preference) but I have only a Pal video monitor.

I noticed another annoying issue: When I’m previewing NON DV file in Trimmer (like uncompressed AVI or PNG file) , the External Monitor (ohci) become black (ADVC110) or blue (TRV900) during a few seconds before the playback start. With DV file, playback start immediately.

But good new, the Sony development team is working on those issue.
