Rotate a phone video shot in portrait.

What is the best way to rotate and stretch the video that was shot on an iPhone where the operator started in portrait mode then rotated the phone to landscape mode. I can easily rotate the image in event pan/crop, but how do I stretch it to fill the screen?

Go to that event in Project Media , rightclick and choose Properties- Go to Media/ Rotation and choose what you want

I would do like you often see on TV. Add the Portrait to the timeline and add it again on the track below. Then on the lower track open Pan/Crop and choose "Match Output Aspect" and add a Guassian Blur.

Is it not easier for this to use the FX Black Bar Fill?

Black bar fill or duplicating the track, adding blur etc is ok if the image in the video is the correct way up when in portrait mode, but if you film something in portrait & then turn the phone into landscape the image in the video doesn't rotate with the aspect.

As the OP says the image would need to be rotated & then stretched or a variant of these actions. It depends also on what the project is set at etc..

Here's a clip i just made https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wpZoMAftT3V-H4b23XTAxrvk1W_HzoUT/view?usp=sharing
