rotating vertical footage

I shot some vertical movies with my D90 -- in other words I held the camera vertically instead of horizontally to catch an image that was higher than it was wide --- and I tried to turn them around in Vegas Movie Studio Platinum. I got into the event pan/crop facility and used the corners to rotate the video, pretty much as you would in Photoshop. I couldn't tell if my rotation was going to stay rotated -- is there a "save" function somewhere? -- but when I played the event in question, it had become a vertical for a few frames and then the image began to turn on its axis. Maybe I should have selected the whole strip, but I couldn't figure out how to do that. I have a feeling something else was omitted in my use of the procedure. Can anyone tell me what?

Below the Event Pan/Crop window you have one or more small "time lines".
There small rectangles mark where you change the Pan/Crop/Rotation data.
If you accidentially (i.e. if you have the sync cursor (the little lock-icon) on) have got too many you can just delete them.
