Ulead's Video Paint is a great tool as well, but is only available with their rather weak MSP application.

Satish, you still working on the Roto-plugin, I saw a while back you said you were starting a beta test for the new plugin how's it coming?
satish wrote on 9/26/2003, 11:24 PM
coming out good. It is more than a rotoscoping plug, it will be a full blown 3d plugin with a library of 3d objects (including morphing between them), lighting, shadows, 3d text... rotoscoping will be a later add on.

Sigh. Yet another period of waiting before being able to cut someone out of a background or remove wires from within Vegas.

Satish, are we talking a 3d enhancement to the modest Vegas titler here? I've never heard of this developemnt until now, so I'm kin dof in the dark
satish wrote on 9/28/2003, 10:21 AM
The vector based mask generator that you mentioned will be included. I only meant the other drawing tools for rotoscopy will be added after the first beta
DataMeister wrote on 9/28/2003, 8:53 PM
Cool.

What other tools are you thinking about?

As i mentioned, the first release would contain a more complete 3d plugin with many built-in 3d objects, lighting, shadows etc.. and also a 3d text generator, along with the bezier-curve based mask generator for videos. After the first release, features would be added based on feature requests given by you users. The idea is to make this into a poor-man's boris red (and may be excel it in a few areas). :) Thanks.

Satish,

I've heard you are working on a Photoshop plugin, is that true? Any release date?

Many thanks for all your fine efforts,

This happens all the time, i put out a schedule but invariantly i end up adding more than i thought initially so that causes the delay... current schedule is to get something out for beta in two weeks.
satish wrote on 9/29/2003, 8:22 PM
I tried once, and had issues. So currently that is in the shelf, but the plan is to add that to my latest plugin so you can invoke photoshop plugins as well from the same interface. This will be done after the first release of my new plugin.

I can't wait. I use your plugins for a variety of things, and every new release is a good surprise. Two weks, two weeks... 14 days, 336 hours...mmmm

Thanks Satish.

when are we looking at for a realese date? (no rush, just curious)
BillyBoy wrote on 10/1/2003, 12:15 AM
I don't know how Satish feels, and I'm not speaking for him. BUT, if I was him, I'd be getting awfully bugged with people constantly pestering me every few days asking when I was going to finish something he's probably planning on giving away again.

GIVE HIM SOME SPACE! Creative people (and Satish is VERY creative) don't work as well when chasing a deadline real or imagined. It will get done when it gets done.

To me such posts are just as annoying as kids in the back of the car asking "are we there yet?" every five minutes.

You could, also, read all the posts in the thread.
