Routing!!

Hi everybody. I'm new to Vegas. I own an Echo MONA card (4
in 6 out), suposed to be compatible with Vegas. Vegas
recognises Mona, but just want to work with Windows' sound
assigner, doesn't let me custom a prefered routing or
record from four inputs at once, since Microsoft Sound
Assigner only allows two prefered input and two prefered
output. What shoud I do?

Any help would be appreciated...

Thank you

Vegas is compatible with the Echo Mona.

Go to the Options |Preferences... menu item. Select the Routing page
and click the "Use a custom bus routing" radio button.

This will permit you to set the default routings for your busses.
Once you make this selection, you can also change the Main Bus
assignments from the mixer view as well. You can select the default
record port here as well. If you wish to record from multiple sources
or from the left/right channel of a port, you can change a tracks
input source once it is armed for record by click on the record port
number next to the flashing record arm button. (In Vegas Video 2.0,
you can right click on the track at any time to assign the record
port for the track.)

Select the File | Properties (Alt-Enter) and then the Audio tab to
set the number of main stereo busses you want.

Hi Peter, thanks for replying. I just read the manual and tried
everything I could. Here's is something weird: I don't have this "Use
a custom bus routing" button on my routing tab. I just see all my
Mona outputs grayed out without any chance to able them. There I'm
only permitted to configure the master output type, which I have
configured to "stereo".

I've no idea on what's the problem. Should I reinstall Vegas or my
Mona driver? That would be a "don't know why I do it, I just do it".

Any tip?

Thank you again

Not sure I follow you here.

There is no "stereo" configuration or "master output type" in Vegas.
(There is a stereo/to mono switch on the mixer page, but that is
about it.) Tracks in Vegas are essentially stereo. All of the busses -
main, FX - are also stereo.

Could you capture and image of the preference dialog Routing page and
e-mail it to me at peterh@sonicfoundry.com?

(Open the Preference dialog, select the Routing tab and type Ctrl-Alt-
Print Screen on you keyboard. Then paste this image to Paint or some
other graphics editor and save as a bmp that you can e-mail me.)

What version of Vegas do you have? Are you registered?

The only version that does this that I am aware of is the demo
version of Vegas Video 2.0.

I would try uninstalling Vegas and then reinstalling.
