No, i'v read on other forums that other users of the Motu PCI324 also having problems with AMD VIA chipsets.
My mainboard(MSI Kt3) use a VIA KT333 and i think this one is not compatible with my 324.
Some guys suggest to use the new 4in1 drivers from VIA.. but no result
Also to use another PCI bus...nothing, update BIOS ..same.,no ACPI..same..etc etc..
I'm waiting now on email reply from Motu and MSI, i'v ask them if they know a solution!
Otherwise i'm gonna buy another mainboard with a AMD chipset, a friend of my is use a Gigabyte board and having no trouble at all.

I'v tyed (I think) everything.
If anybody has a suggestion to make a Mainboard with a VIA chipset (KT333) work with the Motu PCI-324...
What i know is that Mainboards with AMD761 chipsets will work with the 324, like the Gigabyte GA-7DX+ or the Abit KG7 (both with a AMD761).
AMD VIA chipsets & PCI324 = Problems!!!
But i'm still waiting on email reply from Motu, they are not so fast!!!

Speaking from past experience with the MOTU PCI 324 and a VIA Appollo 133 chipset...Ditch the Mobo and move on. I wasted nearly a year fighing with my system, restaging, changing drivers, etc. Finally, MOTU "snuck" the info onto their site that they aren't compatible with VIA chipsets. They don't plan on fixing that either...

The upshot is...The system is *really* stable with the new "MOTU approved" chipset.

Finaly a word from Motu:
Motu have told me that my mainboard is not compatible with the the PCI324!
So if you use a motu don't buy a MSI board with a KT333 chipsets...or never buy a VIA chipset mainboard at all if you don't want trouble.
Also: every based AMD761 chipset mainboard will work.
Today I installed a new board a "Gigabyte GA-7DXR+" and is running pefectly!!!
It cost me 1 MSI board(150 Euro) but it's working now :-))

I have the same problem with Vegas, so I downloaded a demo of CuBase SX. Guess what, no problems. All my I/Os are there, 8 analog and 16 adat (or TDIF depending what I have hooked up).

I'm running an Athlon XP1800 on an IWill KK266plus mobo (w/VIA chipset). So, if this is just a MOTU/VIA problem, what gives? Any ideas from the Sonic Foundry guys?

Well.....?

Cubase uses ASIO drivers. They ASIO drivers for the MOTU hardware expose all the configured ports of the MOTU hardware.

Vegas uses Wave drivere. In the case of the MOTU the WDM Emulated wave drivers. Depending on how you have the MOTU configured, and on what OS you are running, you will see anything from 1 MOTU output to all 24 ports - all as stereo pairs.

For Vegas to see all the available ports of the MOTU, you must check

"Enable full Wave support for legacy (MME) software"

from the MOTU Console application.

Note: Under Win9X and Win2000 you are limited to 10 stereo devices, so you will only see the first 10 stereo pairs of the MOTU. With WinXP you will can see up to 32 stereo devices, so all the MOTU hardware ports will be available.
