Rundll problem upon starting VV4

bjtap wrote on 3/29/2003, 7:33 AM
I have had this problem on other SoFo products and only SoFo products. Upon starting VV4 I get a message that says: RUNDLL in the blue bar and the main message is 'Error loading C:\PROGRa~SONICF~2\Vegas The specified module could not be found.' I did not have this problem with VV3 and after I click the OK button the program seems to run okay.
If memory serves me I received an email directly from SoFo acknowledging this problem being related to Windows XP only (which I have) and that though it does not effect the running of the program, but it did not look good. It still doesn't.
I just discovered that if you allow the error message to just sit there for a few minutes VV4 will load anyway.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Barry

It sounds like Windows is looking for the wrong SF product.
POSSIBLY, reinstalling the program would help.

Sounds like you must have disabled 8.3 filenames. This thread tells how to fix it:

John and SonicTSW,
Thanks for your reply but neither idea seemed to help. Remember, I had VV3 running fine. No changes were made when I installed VV4.

I have the same problem. Did as suggested by SonicTSW with the same results - the error message remains. The only difference in my case is I'm running Win 2000, as opposed to XP.
