Rundll32 stopped working

After reinstalling Vegas Movie Studio 6. Every-time I start Vegas 6 I get a error message rundll32 has stopped working. When I click ok Vegas starts and runs ok.
I have looked in Sony knowledge base and can't find any reference to rundll32
What is rundll32? How do I stop it giving errors?

This good be an indication of malware, including a trojan or spyware.

First load and run Spybot S&D and see what it finds and removes.

If that doesn't do it, do a good scan with your antivirus software or Malware Bytes.
