Runtime Error - Just started - Vegas 8 won't load

Everything has been working fine until today. I click on my Vegas icon & it starts to load like normal but then pos up with:

Runtime Error

Program: I\Program Files\Vegas Pro 8.0 \ Vegas80.exe

abnormal program termination

FYI: I: is my main drive not c:.

So I totally removed the program within Windows XP & then downloaded the latest version from Sony website (8.0c) then reloaded and tried to start again. Same error message appears.

I love this program and am a big supporter. Any help is appreciated.

Try this:
Rename the last project you saved in Vegas to something else, like video.vegOLD and open Vegas from the program icon. If Vegas opens normally, you will know that its a corrupt project or bad media within the project.
