Ryzen 9 (16 Core), thoughts ??

I was on my way to building a new system using the Ryzen 1700 (8 core), when this bomb was dropped a few days ago.  Looks like a new, 16 core Ryzen, is on its way this summer.  So my questions is, does Vegas benefit from anything more than 8 cores?  I looked and found another thread where the topic was discussed, but I didn't get a clear answer. Some say it tops off at 16 threads, another say it will use all the cores you throw at it.  Has anyone gone from 4 to 8 to 10 and beyond cores? If so, does it really help to go beyond 8 cores for Vegas?  If so, I'm thinking I'll postpone my build and wait til the new Ryzen's come out this summer.  Looks like they are coming out with 10, 12 and 16 core CPU's.  Thanks all !!!

Vegas Pro 13 is definitely using all cores available when rendering , meaning in my case 40 cores on my HP Z820 workstations . ( see my profile for system config ) No single doubt about that . And it defintely speeds rendering a LOT .
