Same old advice needed but please be patient and help if you can!

Hello,

I am using Vegas 10 at the moment and looking to upgrade to Pro Edit 15. On the whole I do cinematic style short subjects with standard transitions and grading. I occasionally do minor VFX. I have limped through with following set up.

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-Bit

Battlefield War Rush Intel Core i5 2500K 3.30GHz @ 4.40GHz DDR3 Limited Edition Quad Core System

OcUK GeForce GTX 460 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit

I’m aware that I need to upgrade and I would like to use (ideally up to LOG3, full frame) footage for the same purposes in Vegas 15. I am not a hyper technical person but a also not a Luddite. People seem to really get into the hair splitting of hardware and endless permutations of hardware set ups. I need solid and basic advice as to choosing (especially) GPU cards.

This is my proposed upgrade list

Asus P6T7 WS SuperComputer motherboard (a kind friend is donating this)

INTEL XEON X5675 3.06GHz 12MB SLBYL SIX CORE 6C CPU PROCESSOR CACHE LGA 1366

GEFORCE GTX 1050TI D5 MINI 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-EXPRESS GRAPHICS CARD

16-24gb ram, DDR3 1333MHz ECC 240-pin UDIMM (not sure if this is for a desktop or server only)

I can’t really afford a higher price tag than £180 (gbp) for a GPU...I really am fixed at approx £400 gbp for my upgrades (minus software).

I hear loads of things regarding using or not using Nvidia cards, quadro, Amd Radeon, CUDA cores, threads etc etc. I hear that some specs add nothing or little, that there are compatibility issues, that some specs are great for gaming and a waste of money for editing etc etc.

Are there some reasonably simple guidelines to follow for decent all round performance given my budget limitations?

Please help this ambitious idiot.
