Somehow my system 'lost' or 'forgot' how to work with the Samsung SC-X210L sports cam Miniket codec. Sony tech support helped me fix this back in 2006 and Vegas worked fine with these clips for a couple of years. But now I have upgraded to Vista Ultimate and now when I drop an .AVI on the timeline, I get only audio and no video. All other video resources on the same PC (MovieMaker, Roxio, Screenblast, Quicktime, etc) thumbnail and play these video files correctly - only Vegas is having trouble with them!

Sony's tech support's most recent solution for me was to publish the movie from MovieMaker first, then edit the result in Vegas, but this is simply too lame and time-consuming with as many clips as I have to assemble and edit.

Any ideas on how I can get the Miniket codec working with Vegas again? My boss is on my case...
