SATA 3 for "C" drive

Just installed a SATA 3 (16meg cache) Seagate as a "C" drive and you won't believe how fast XP PRO boots up, what a huge difference. IDE is dead. In this particular older machine with P4 2.8 it looks like it made at least a 50% speed up. Like Cole Younger says---"It's a wonderment"

how did you get a SATA drive to install XP w/o a driver floppy? Or did you use a floppy? I haven't tried putting a SATA as C just because I ditched floppies YEARS ago & well, can't install a MS OS w/o SATA drivers on a floppy! :(

The options are in the feature sets within the motherboard BIOS. I have used a SATA drive for C: on three Gigabyte systems.

XP installed with SATA LG burner/CD. Set the bios for proper install order.

...still ridin' all these IDE drives in my comp', apart from these two SATA2 drives I got a few time ago but my mobo will only give me the "simple sata" version, the basic one...
