save veg file but not working

I added a background music on my video (avi file) with some volume adjustments using INSERT/AUDIO ENVELOPES/VOLUME (turned up and down) and save it. Loaded the file (drag/drop) but no changes on the volume whatsoever. I don't know why. Can someone please tell me how? Thnx.

You have to render a new file if you want to bake the effects into it. Saving a .veg file osaves the project, but doesn't do anything destructive to the source files.

Thnx. That means I have to render it to an avi file. Right? But I don't understand why the changes didn't take effect. I did some editing on my files with transition effects for instance and saved it to a veg file and when I loaded it, the effects were there, it wasn't even rendered yet but on audio like I said, they're not there. Anyways, I'll try it.

I tried rendering a new file after saving it to a veg file and I loaded the new rendered file (avi), still it doesn't work. Can you please tell me how to do it from scratch, only if you have time. thnx.
