Save with trimmed media bug

The problem of saving a trimmed project that contains velocity envelopes has been discussed many times; The clip that contains the envelope will not be trimmed. I always end up with a few 60 minute clips untrimmed - not good for archiving. I have been hoping for a fix since 4.0. Any hope?

I have bumped this topic. Can anyone from Sony comment if it is a dead issue? I have made the request though the product suggestion route - but no reply.
