Saving for DVD....

Good day to all....

I'm a new kid here so thought I would introduce myself and I have an inquiry.

I purchased MM 9.0 two weeks ago and I'm making a DVD of my 'Military Chronicles'.
I got through one hurdle which was dealing with all the different sizes of the pictures I had and ones I got from fellow military brothers.

My first inquiry is saving to DVD.
I've made my first test copy to DVD and 'rendered' as an .avi file and all came out fine.

1) Is there a preferred (or default) format one should save to rather than '.avi' which is a fairly large file?

2) If one wants if to play correctly on a 42" LCD TV what is best format to render to?

Thanks for reading my novelette and any guidance is appreciated.
That's correct....I am VERY new at this process.

Hi,
Which version of Vegas do you have?
If it is Vegas Movie Studio 9, you will have better luck asking your questions over on that forum. You are at the Vegas Pro forum, which is for a different piece of software.

Sorry about that.
I have Vegas Movie Studio 9.0 Platinum Pro.

Ok...I've come here for the first time and am learning my way around here.

Thx
